Logistics Trading Services (LTS) with Turn module for Søstrene Grene

Challenge

Søstrene Grene is a Danish, family-owned retail company founded in 1973 and counting more than 240 stores across 15 countries.

Every week, new products land in stores, so with a large assortment and a large flow of goods, it is a requirement that customs clearance is carried out correctly, flexibly and quickly.

Costs for external handling of customs processes are significant, and you want to insource the customs process by investing in an IT solution that can support customs processing, so that you can:

  • Gain full visibility and reduce errors, with a focus on control and reporting rather than manual entry
  • Achieve automatic updating of customs warehouses and customs debts
  • Manage and control your own bonded warehouse by comparing data/status between the physical warehouse and the bonded warehouse
  • Reduce delays in deliveries by submitting correct customs documents to the carrier electronically
  • Obtain correct official documentation for the product's progress from import to the time the product is sold to end customers
  • Imagine customs clearance in Norway, which is their second largest market outside Denmark
  • Achieve significant time savings during customs clearance

Solution

With Logistics Trading Services (LTS), Søstrene Grene has received a cloud-based standard solution for handling customs processes in connection with the import and export of goods, as well as the use of bonded warehouses.

The solution supports the entire process, from imports from countries outside the EU, customs warehouse accounting, and sales to countries within or outside the EU, and is integrated with their ERP system Navision, which supplies the datasets LTS uses to automate the customs process.

LTS also contains a function called "Turn", which makes it possible to create complementary documents, for example, an export declaration in Denmark can form the basis for an import declaration to the Norwegian authorities, thereby avoiding having to pay for this "service" from a Norwegian partner.

“Turn” can now also create files for a number of carriers, so that they do not need to enter customs information into their systems, but can import the created LTS-l, and then send it on to the Norwegian customs service, Tolletaten.

What will you get out of this?

  • Automation has led to significant savings on customs handling costs.
  • Simple and effective solution for exports to Norway, which also results in major savings and eliminates manual routines and sources of error
  • Full traceability and history of all goods
